Hyundai Motor India Limited achieved a major milestone in 2025 as the Creta registered its highest-ever annual sales in India, crossing the 2 lakh unit mark for the first time. This performance translates to an average of nearly 550 units sold every day across the country.
The achievement further reinforces the Creta’s dominance as India’s best-selling mid-size SUV on a cumulative basis over the last five years. Despite intensifying competition and the launch of several new models in the segment, the Creta has continued to lead the market in both volume and brand strength.
In 2025, the Creta also completed ten years in the Indian market, marking a decade of strong and consistent demand. Since its introduction, the model has recorded a compound annual growth rate of over 9 percent between 2016 and 2025, highlighting its sustained popularity.
Currently, the Creta commands a market share of more than 34 percent in India’s mid-size SUV segment, placing it well ahead of its competitors.
Hyundai’s sales data also reflects a shift in buyer demographics. The share of first-time car buyers choosing the Creta has risen sharply, from 13 percent in 2020 to 32 percent in 2025.
Feature-rich variants continue to drive demand, with sunroof-equipped versions accounting for over 70 percent of Creta sales in India during the year. Diesel variants remain a key contributor as well, making up around 44 percent of total sales.
Since its launch, the Hyundai Creta has consistently emerged as the highest-selling mid-size SUV in India in every completed calendar year. With one of the most diverse powertrain line-ups in the segment—spanning petrol, diesel and electric—the Creta continues to be one of the most versatile and successful SUVs in India’s highly competitive automotive market.
